Plan fixed-team pickleball play
- Enter each singles player or doubles team as one participant so the pair stays together. For n teams, one leg creates n(n−1)/2 matches: 7 teams create 21 matches.
- Seven teams use 7 logical rounds with one rotating rest each round. Six teams use 5 rounds and 15 matches; the engine never schedules the same participant twice in one logical round.
- With 7 teams and 2 courts, each round’s 3 matches use 2 court slots. A 15-minute match setting gives about 210 minutes of playing slots before transitions.
Worked example: seven pickleball teams
7 teams create 21 matches across 7 logical rounds. One team rests in each round; with 2 courts, the 3 matches per round use 2 slots. At 15 minutes per slot, the structural estimate is about 210 minutes before court changes and breaks.
Fixed teams or rotating partners?
Use this page when partners stay together and the pair should be ranked as one participant through the event.
Choose rotating doubles when individuals should receive new partners and individual participation balance matters more than a fixed-team league.
Rules and timing
- The time estimate excludes warmups, court changes, late starts and local scoring procedures.
- Odd team counts create one rest per logical round; a rest is not a win and does not count as a played match.
- The page creates the tournament structure and supported result workflow, but it does not enforce a governing body’s pickleball rules.

Should a doubles pair be one participant?

The engine can run more matches concurrently, but seven teams still need 21 total matches.
