Free tournament schedule generator
Choose the format, participant list, available playing areas and expected match length. BracketCanvas generates pairings and resource slots, then keeps the schedule editable as results change.
Setup
Separate pairings, resources and time
- Pairings define who must play; court assignments define where each match takes place.
- A playing slot contains matches that can run concurrently without sharing a participant or resource.
- Estimated duration equals generated slots multiplied by the entered match length.
Example: ten participants and three tables
A one-leg round robin creates 45 matches over nine logical rounds. Each round contains five matches, so three tables need two playing slots per round. At ten minutes per match, 18 slots take about 180 minutes before breaks.
What this scheduler is for
Use it to estimate the event shape, resource load and minimum match time before publishing.
Use a sport-specific page when you need terminology and examples tailored to football, pickleball or padel.
What the estimate excludes
- The schedule shows relative slots and resource numbers, not clock start times for each match.
- Changeovers, breaks, delays and travel between venues must be added by the organizer.
- Warnings identify structural byes or uneven waves but do not certify venue capacity or safety.
Tournament scheduling questions
How are courts, fields or tables assigned?
Matches in the same playing slot are distributed across the number of resources selected before generation.
How is duration estimated?
BracketCanvas multiplies the number of generated slots by the estimated match length.
Does it create exact start times?
Not yet. The current version creates ordered playing slots; add real-world buffers when converting them into a clock timetable.
Is registration required?
No. Local autosave and capability links provide recovery without an account.
